Alex Stevens and Matthew Graham met on December 17, 2016, in Arlington, Virginia, less than a week after Matthew moved from Washington, D.C. to Arlington, Virginia. Their first interaction was working out at Orange Theory Fitness and competing on the treadmills (to those who know Matthew this competition should be no surprise). They followed this meeting with a breakfast date at SouthBlock and well, let’s just say that this became a routine. Every week since December 17, 2016,  Alex and Matthew have shared sweaty workouts and Friday morning breakfast dates.

The dating adventure for Alex and Matthew has been one characterized by incredible community, amazing adventures and continual growth, together.

Over the past year you could find us running on The Mall in Washington, D.C., taking trips to hike at Great Falls Virginia, completing cycling excursions to Mount Vernon, skydiving in Charlottesville, playing in tennis tournaments, and horseback riding in Middleburg. We learned over this time that we love to be outside together, we love to challenge each other, and boy, do we love to laugh together. On Sundays, you could find us with our church community at McLean Presbyterian Church. This church has been the cornerstone of our foundation and spiritual growth as a couple alongside our MANY wonderful friends who have walked alongside us in Arlington, VA.

The feelings continued to grow and on December 17, 2017, Matthew Graham planned the most special surprise as he proposed to Alex Stevens at the UGA Chapel in Athens, Georgia. This is the first time she heard the words, “I LOVE YOU” and the time that her heart was claimed for a lifetime.

We are so excited to enter into marriage, forever friendship, commitment and true love with one another. We are so thankful to Him from whom all blessings flow as we see marriage as divine, holy and a true blessing. We welcome you to celebrate this special day with us as we embark on a lifetime of adventure together!
